Vanessa Fraction is a seasoned standup comedian, actor, credited television writer and television personality who is equally smart, hilarious and a delight to watch both onstage and onscreen. Born in St. Louis and raised in Chicago, she has successfully worked in the entertainment industry for more than a decade.

As a standup comic, her performances are featured on a wide variety of televised comedy shows. From her start on Def Comedy Jam (HBO), to Nick Mom’s Night Out (Nick Jr.), to features on Mike Epps, Live at Club Nokia and Martin Lawrence’s 1st Amendment Standup (STARZ). She recently, independently released her first hour special “A Fraction of the Truth”. As a comedian, she manages to movingly joke about a range of vulnerable and timely topics, including being a parent to two young adults, dating in the age of social media and other cultural oddities. When it comes to her comedy, she isn’t shy about being a strong, successful black woman who faces everyday struggles with a smile. She has performed in front of hundreds of audiences across the world. Fraction’s unique story telling style resonates with her listeners helping them escape reality through laughter and amusement.

As an actress, Vanessa has appeared in the recently released American TV drama series “Tales”, she also has a recurring role on the sitcom, Mann & Wife (BounceTV), and has had feature roles in the films Barber Shop 2: Back to Business and Kim Field’s Holiday Love: The Rebirth. Not only is she an all-around entertainer, she is a talented writer, and has written for entertainment talk shows including, The Arsenio Hall Show (CBS), 106 & Park (BET) and The Mo’Nique Show, which was her first writing job and offered to her after performing standup on the show.
